John
Hail is an international correspondent based in Bangkok and
served as bureau chief for UPI and DPA. He has covered major events
in Asia since 1976 and is among the best known members of the Bangkok
foreign correspondent community—a 25-year member and two-time board
member of the Foreign Correspondents Club of Thailand. John Hail is
from California. His first novel Bangkok
A-Go-Go, which gives a unique foreign perspective on
the students-led communist movements in Thailand in the 1970s and
1980s, was published in 2003.
